Youth Advisory Board

We don’t just create content for youth. We build it with them.

The members of our Big Sister Africa Youth Advisory Board were selected for their consistency, curiosity, and engagement. They co-created our tone, formats, and priorities ensuring our media reflects real concerns, not assumptions.
Our local experts

Meet Our Local Experts

We work with practitioners who live the realities on the ground. They create to educate by bringing cultural insight, educational relevance, and proven expertise, turning knowledge into tools young people can actually use.
Founder

Meet the Founder

Cannelle Maricaux is a Senegalese-Belgian investment advisor whose career spans Europe, the UAE, and Africa.
‍
Raised between Francophone and Anglophone Africa, she observed how similar potential can lead to very different outcomes - not because of ability, but because of language, exposure, and access to guidance.

This experience shaped her understanding of the barriers many young people face across Francophone Africa and the wider Global South.
‍
She founded Big Sister Africa to address this gap through culturally grounded media and practical orientation, equipping youth with the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate today’s economic realities.
‍
She believes that representation shapes confidence - and that media has a responsibility to reflect the realities of the regions where the world’s future workforce will emerge.
